Gameday: Exhibition - 6/14 vs. USA, 7 PM

The Navs come into tonight's exhibition on a three game winning streak to put them at 4-2 for the season, but they are going to have their work cut out for them tonight. North Shore will take on the United States national team, fresh off victories over the Keene Swamp Bats and Holyoke Sox.

Pregame Notes: North Shore Navigators (4-2) vs. United States (2-0)
-LISTEN TO/WATCH THE GAME
-After being shutout two games in a row, the Navigators offense has come to life over the past three nights, putting up 25 runs in 3 games.
-Last night, the Navigators defeated Lowell, 5-3. Jason Markowitz (1-0) earned the win, while Dan Lozeau (0-1) suffered the defeat.
-Sean McNaughton has been the sparkplug for the Navs, hitting .348 with 7 runs scored and 4 runs batted in from the leadoff spot.
-The US national team defeated Holyoke 7-2 last night. Leadoff hitter Josh Feilhauser went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and a run batted in. The US used five pitchers. Stephen Strasburg was credited with the win, giving up no runs on one hit in three innings.

Starting Pitchers
-Jimmy Lisowski will get the start for North Shore, and is expected to pitch five or six innings. Lisowski's last start came on opening night against Vermont one week ago. Lisowski earned a no-decision, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.2 innings of work. The Warwick, MA native went 4-2 in 9 starts for D3 Springfield College, with a 3.93 ERA, 59 strikeouts, and 15 walks. Opponents hit .276 against Lisowski.
-The University of Missouri's Kyle Gibson will take the ball for the US. The tall righty (6'6'', 195) went 9-4 with a 3.84 ERA in 12 starts for the Tigers. He struck out 96 while walking 23 in 86.2 innings.

-9:37 PM: He gets Feilhauser to pop out, ending the inning. All things considered, an outstanding job by Krull. Still 6-3 Navs, middle 8.

-9:33 PM: Two big, big outs for Krull. Bases still loaded, two out, no runs in yet.

-9:32 PM: USA has the tying run at the plate in the form of Aaron Senne after three 'excuse-me' singles to lead off the inning. Krull could use a K or a DP.

-9:31 PM: Adams' line: 0 R 1 H 2 IP

-9:28 PM: Ryan Krull is in to pitch here in the 8th.

-9:25 PM: Trent just fanned with two on to end the 7th.

-9:12 PM: AJ Griffin in to pitch for Les Etats-Unis with two on and nobody out in the bottom o' the 7th.

-8:59 PM: USA has a runner on first base with one out against Adams in the 7th.


-8:49 PM: With a runner on 3rd, Kent Graham reached on an error by Deitrich, allowing a run to score. 6-2 Navs.

-8:40 PM: Adams pitches a strong 1-2-3 sixth, striking out the final batter looking on a sweet 1-2 curveball.

-8:35 PM: Mike Adams in to pitch for the Navs.

-8:25 PM: Tyler Lyons is in to pitch for USA. The national team put up a 2nd run on Lisowski in the 5th to make it 5-2; that will probably be all for Lisowski.

-8:17 PM: Still 5-1 here, top 5.

Big surprise so far here at Fraser.

-7:48 PM: Jimmy Griffin just made an impressive scoop at first base, saving a run and retiring the side. Sugah Kane's response: "GRRRRROWL!"

-7:46 PM: A sacrifice fly by Phegley here in the 3rd puts a run on the board for los Estados Unidos. It's now 5-1 Navs.

-7:34 PM: Lisowski pitches around a leadoff single and keeps it 5-0 thru 1 1/2.

-7:21 PM: Johnny Griffin smokes a single to right in his first Navs at bat. 5-0. Wow.

-7:20 PM: Fatse smashes a triple to deep right center that brings home two more. 4-0 Navs. We've already topped the run total of Keene and Holyoke combined (2).

-7:18 PM: Provencher dumps a base hit into left, two runs come home, and what do you know - it's 2-0 Navs.

-7:16 PM: The Navs have the bases loaded with one out in the first!! And Mike Provencher is up.


-7:10 PM: Well done, Mr. Lisowski. He gets through his first inning unscathed.

-7:05 PM: Play ball.


-7:00 PM: Veterans in attendance were just honored on the field. Pregame ceremonies are over and we're ready to go.

-6:47 PM: The USA team is being introduced to the crowd now.

-6:40 PM: We're getting ready to go... the US team is stretching out on the first base side. The US Army is here with a big rock climbing wall for the kids. Also, F****** Papelbon just gave up a home run to tie the game in the 9th. @$!@#!#!@#!#!
