7/24: Game vs. Keene PPD

Rain, rain, go away...Tonight's game against the Keene Swamp Bats (20-12) has been postponed due to the continuously awful weather conditions. A make-up date has not been disclosed, yet. The Navigators now have 11 games remaining on the schedule, with double-headers already scheduled for next Tuesday (7/29) in Lowell and next Thursday (7/31) in Holyoke (one game against the Blue Sox and another against the Torrington Twisters).

While there will be no action today, here are some pictures taken by Meaghen Hamill, the Navigators' Community Outreach and Activities Coordinator. Thanks Meg!

Navigators strut their stuff at a Boston Red Sox tryout at Fenway Park. (From left-to-right: Mike Provencher, Kent Graham, Chad Zurcher, Jason Markowitz, Tyler Kuehl, Justin Little, Mike Gallo and Nick Belcher.)

Though the Northern Division was defeated, 5-2, the Navigators were well represented at the 2008 NECBL All-Star Game. (From left-to-right: Jason Markowitz, Chris Prescott, Sean McNaughton, Mike Provencher and Tyler Kuehl.)

Rally caps were vital in the Navigators' fourteen-inning victory over the Keene Swamp Bats on July 21. The game was won on a single to left-field by Matt Costello. Mike Provencher (far left) scored the winning run.

I just wanted to let you know that you all do a fantastic job getting information out to everyone. My 8 year old son and I come to nearly all of the games, and we also like to check the website for information when the Navs are on the road. The in-game posts and game summaries are also great - much better (and posted much quicker) than what I've seen on any of the other NECBL team sites. Keep of the good work! Now.......if we could just get more people coming to the games!!!!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

By the way, if you've been coming to games in the last few weeks, you'll know that crowds HAVE been getting bigger. We're not quite selling out yet ;), but we're building a solid base for the future.

I think that most people who have come to the ballpark have been satisfied with the product, which is the real key.

Thanks again and feel free to introduce yourself at a game!

I think it is nuts for the team to have to travel to Keene for a morning game, then come back home for a night game - especially when Keene is in Lowell the night before! They should consider putting the Keene guys up in a hotel in this area.....or use the August 1st league make-up day for this one. All of that travel will surely impact our player's performance and this is a critical time in the season.

Wow - that is some crazy scheduling. So the Navs play tomorrow night in Lynn, then have to leave at the crack of dawn for a two hour bus ride to Keene, play a game at 11AM, then head back to Lynn for a 6PM game.

At some point, don't they have to think about using the 8/1 league-wide makeup date?
