With Keene and Sanford idle last night, the Navs lost a half game on each, putting them 1.5 behind division-leading Sanford and 1 behind the second place Swamp Bats.
Vermont's 5-4 win over Newport put them in to a 4th place tie with idle Holyoke, 4.5 games behind the leader.
Tonight, Keene hosts North Adams while Sanford is home against Pittsfield.
The Navs play Newport tonight at 7 PM under hot, sunny skies in Lynn.
